My wife and I live in Cumbria with our two teenage sons. We are close to our wider families who come to stay quite often which is one reason we have a spacious home. We have a dog, who could stay with neighbours during your visit or could stay at the house to show you round. We have some hens who will provide a few eggs and one son has a few sheep. You won't need to pay any attention to any of them as neighbours will look after them!

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our house is on the edge of a small, quiet country village, set back from the principal road (which is not busy) and surrounded by the lake, woodland and farmland. We are 20 minutes from Junction 44 on the M6. Carlisle, with every major shop, bank, garage and railway station is only 15 minutes way.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
We have a lovely 8 ha lake to row about on and 50 ha of woodlands to explore. It's a mile or so to walk to the Southern shore of the Solway Firth where you can walk for miles along the estuary. We have three pubs and two horse-riding stables within three miles.
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We expect to find our house clean, neat and tidy when we come back but we can easily arrange for a trusted cleaner to come in daily to take care of that for you. We don't smoke and ask visitors not to do so in the house. Our lake and woodlands are a Site of Special Scientific Interest, so it is particularly important that no litter is dropped. We have extensive gardens which we hope you will enjoy and a gardener will come in once a week to tend to them.
We are looking for somewhere warm and interesting in Europe which is either in or near a town with some youthful social life – beach, bars, clubs etc. We need to accommodate five adults (2 doubles/twins plus one single) plus comfortable room for three teenage boys. We’d prefer a car swap, even a 2-car swap. We don’t mind animals, will water plants, don’t smoke and have no special allergies or aversions.
