Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
We are in the centre of the town which has many cafes, pubs, restaurants and shops. An art-deco independent cinema (The Rex) is minutes away on foot. The train station is 5 minutes away on foot. The Grand Union Canal, with its many locks and well kept tow-path, runs through the town. There is a large tennis club, bowls club and numerous well-kept recreation grounds with activities for children. There are three well large supermarkets within walking distance. The town has a market on a Wednesday and a Saturday and once a month there is a Sunday farmer's market. We are surrounded by the most spectacular scenery of the Chilterns - Ashridge forest and Wendover Woods are renowned beauty spots. There are various country houses owned by the National Trust within a short drive, such as Clivedon, Waddesdon Manor, Stowe, and Hughendon Manor. Berkhamsted is 30 minutes direct to London by train. Whipsnade zoo is 20 mins away in the car.
