Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Originally built in 1959 we have renovated and extended it to a high standard. It has 4 bedrooms; the master bedroom has a king sized bed, large en-suite and dressing room. One bedroom has a double bed and is quite large. One bedroom has a 3/4 double bed and is moderately large. One bedroom has twin beds. There is a family bathroom upstairs with a shower over the bath. Downstairs there is a large lounge, a snug (both with TVs), a large kitchen/dining room, a utility room with a downstairs WC, basin and shower. The rear garden has a hot tub, a lovely deck area with gazebo which catches the last of the sun, and a lovely green lawn (thanks to Green Thumb!) The front garden has space for 2 cars and a small lawn and plants. There is a balcony at the front of the snug which has a fantastic view as the house is half-way up the Cotswolds. The Mendips can be seen on a clear day 10 miles away. At the back of the house is the green belt/AONB which has the Cotswold Way passing through. There are plenty of footpaths in this area for circular walks from 10 minutes to an hour or more! The views are stunning. The house is a gentle 30 minute walk (1.75 miles) to the citry centre, passing through 2 parks, and passing the front of the Royal Crescent, so only about 500 metres of it is on a road. Weston Village is a 5 minute walk away with a Tesco Metro and other shops/pubs.

Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

Weston is a village to the north west of Bath city centre (which has merged in with Bath) and is known as a very family friendly place. A church has been here for over 800 years, and a Roman road passes through. Although there are Georgian properties around it is mostly Victorian and post-Victorian. It is very leafy, with several parks and surrounded by farmland (Greenbelt/AONB/World Heritage).

Attractions

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

Bath is a beautiful city and has so many attractions. The Roman Baths has consistently been voted one of the best visitor attractions in the whole of the UK. The Georgian architecture of the city centre is stunning. There are several museums/visitor attractions: Jane Austen Centre, The Assembly Rooms, Holburne Museum which has interesting exhibitions. The Royal Theatre is beautiful and often has pre-West End productions. There are night clubs, lots of restaurants, lost of independent (and some quirky) shops, cafes galore, parks, festivals, Bath Rugby Club, Bath City FC, the river (which has sightseeing cruises), comedy tours, cinemas and more. Wild swimming is available in the River Avon at Warleigh Weir and Dundas Viaduct.
