Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

We live in a largely family orientated neighbourhood. The city centre is a 20-30 minute walk through Victoria Park, passing the Royal Crescent or a 5-10 minute bus/taxi journey. There is a thriving street within 150 yards of our house that offers cafes, a vegetarian cafe/restaurant, a Thai restaurant, a bakery, a small supermarket, a barber, a fish & chip shop, hardware store etc. There is also a larger supermarket within 10 minutes walk and various others within 10 minutes drive.

Nearby facilities including rowing, paddle boarding, sailing, cycling (with good cycle paths nearby, by the river). We have 5 good bikes. 4 adult and one for a 7-10 year old. One Ribble roadie, one YT Jeffsy MTB one Specialized hybrid, a Schwinn hardtail MTB and a front sus kids bike. World class MTB riding can be reached in South Wales within 90 minutes at Bike Park Wales or CymCarn.

Bath has a wide variety of acclaimed restaurants, bars and historical sites such as the Roman Bath, Royal Crescent, Circus, Holburne Museum, and Assembly Rooms. Bath is famous for its year-round events programme, including literary festivals and events, classical and contemporary music of every kind, galleries, art galleries and museums. Free family events such as Forest of Imagination. There is so much on offer.

Attractions

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

Bath is a nationally renowned shopping destination as well as offering numerous historic sites like The Roman bath, The Jane Austin Museum, The Pump Room and the impeccably maintained city parks. The world-famous neolithic Stonehenge is a short drive and London is 80 minutes on a train. The best way to enjoy Bath though (in our opinion) is to simply live it.

*We have a welcome pack that lists all of our preferred cafes, bars, restaurants and sites.

Our Preferences

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules

The house is our main home so please respect it. We will leave the property in pristine condition with a welcome pack to make the journey easier. We respect our neighbours so would prefer that guests do too. It's important though that guests have a great time so we will always do our utmost to be on hand to answer any questions about the house or the local area. We're very proud of our city are keen for guests to have the best time possible.

If the bikes are used please lock them always when parked up and never leave them unattended. Bath is a very safe city with a very low crime rate but due to their value they are a target for any light fingered opportunistic thieves.
