Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Beautiful four bedroomed contemporary new house overlooking Blagdon Lake in the Chew Valley. This is the Mendip Hills AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty). We are in the very small village of Ubley, 9 miles South of Bristol, 17 miles West of Bath and 9 miles North of Wells. Completed three years ago, it was a self-build project. With huge windows it is very light, but eco friendly, very well insulated and warm. One of the four double bedrooms is downstairs, with a lounge upstairs to take advantage of the lovely lake view.

Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

Our pretty village is small, about 70 houses, with a village hall and primary school but no shop or pub. There is a shop in the next village 1 mile away, and four good pubs within 1.5 miles. It is a friendly village, and there are often events in the village hall. Neighbouring villages have Pilates, Zumba, singing groups etc on a drop-in basis, all welcome. The buzzing and historic city of Bristol is half an hour's drive away, with theatres, concerts, restaurants and shopping. The Georgian city of Bath and the beautiful cathedral city of Wells are also just a short drive away.

Our Preferences

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules

Our house is newly built and furnished, with oak floors and new carpets. We would want these to be unscratched and clean on our return. We prefer shoes to be removed before walking on the carpets. Well behaved children welcome, but unfortunately no pets.
