Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Situated DIRECTLY on the beach on the 2nd Floor (top floor of block so no one is above you). The views from the balcony are spectacular. The apartment is between Puerto Portals and Palma Nova, walking distance to both. The lovely city of Palma is a 20 minute bus ride away, the bus stop is at the end of the road. It is close to all amenities, a car is not necessary unless you want to tour the beautiful island. If you decide to rent a car there is free parking in the road. There is a walking/cycle path at the end of the road that goes for many miles in both directions. A large supermarket is a 5 minutes walk away, several restaurants and café bars are minutes walk away.
There are several golf courses nearby.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Son Caliu beach is situated on a delightful small bay. There is a very good Spanish restaurant and two café bars on the beach. The upmarket exclusive marina of Puerto Portals is a 15 minute walk away to the East, this is a good place to sit in the cafes and people watch. The rich and famous regularly frequent this area and charter ocean going yachts from here. Son Caliu is a quieter area than the larger more bustling resort of Palma Nova, a 10 minute walk to the West , where you will find more nightlife.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
A visit to Palma is a must, this is a vibrant exciting city, the old town is very atmospheric and full of old Spanish restaurants tucked away in narrow side streets. The cathedral is amazing and there are various art galleries and museums worth a visit. The buses run regularly to and from Palma. If you do not wish to hire a car, you can take the train from Palma through the orange and olive groves to Soller in the mountains, I would recommend this trip. A ten minute walk towards Puerto Portals is Marineland, with dolphin shows etc. There are two water theme parks a short bus ride away and numerous golf courses.
If you decide to hire a car and explore the island, I can send you details of where is best to visit, with directions. If you have never been to Mallorca before it is a particularly beautiful island, with wonderful beaches, mountains to walk up or even abseil, local markets in all the towns, small and large marinas and generally stunning scenery.
