It is the first time we try to exchange our home, but we are sure it will be a great experience.
We have to go to Vancouver to work in the University of British Columbia for several moths and we think this is the best way to feel at home.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our neighborhood has no traffic and is very very calm. All bedrooms are oriented to a pedestrian plaza (east), and the kitchen and the living room are oriented to another calm plaza (west).
The little fishermen village where our apartment is located has 5000 habitants and is very friendly and peaceful.
The old town is nice with old stone houses and the XVI century church.
You can walk to every part of the town, and the beach is only 10 minutes walk.
The village is well connected by public transport to the rest of the province and there are only 10 km to the capital (Donostia, that was European Cultural City in 2016). If you like gastronomy, Donostia has got a lot of places and the quality is very high: restaurants, pintxos,...Even some restaurants with 3 Michelin Stars!
We are also quite close to the border with France (about 30 minutes by car) and you can visite all the southwest of France (Biarritz, Arcachon, Bordeaux, Pau,...).
It is a great place for a long stay. Weather in summer time is warm but not too hot, and autumns are mild.
And you could improve your Spanish level, or, if you are interested in languages, you could start learning Basque, the oldest European language!
Some distances:
Donostia: 10 minutes (10km)
Bilbao (Guggenheim Museum): 1h (100km)
Pamplona: 1h (100km)
Biarritz (France): 45 minutes (70km)
