Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Unfortunately, in 2023 we are unable to undertake long haul flights, due to impending knee replacement operations. I've been waiting a long time.

We are, however, still happy to exchange for UK or European properties - do please contact us.

We have a detached family home in Weaverham [www.weaverham.org] with a generously sized, secure and secluded rear garden. We live on a quiet road with room for 3 cars on our drive. We have a charging point for electric cars largely supplied by the solar panels. Upstairs we have 2 king size beds and 2 double size beds. We also have 2 double bed settees. Our bedroom (with views to the rear over the Weaver valley) has an en-suite and we have a family bathroom with a bath and separate shower and an additional electric shower in the bedroom over the garage. We have high speed broadband. We have a living room and separate kitchen/dining room and utility room.

The garden has a patio with seating, some steps and a tiny, shallow pond. We are 5 mins walk from shops and the 2 small supermarkets (Tesco and Coop) are open 7 days/week.

Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

We live in a large village surrounded by beautiful countryside with a range of shops, a library, a small heated indoor swimming pool and a community centre with assorted activities. The village is in the Domesday Book and still has cobbled old footpaths, and C17th cottages which you can see on a self guided walk. The parish church is over 1000 years old (http://www.stmarysweaverham.org/index.php). Nearby we have the Anderton Boat Lift (https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/anderton-boat-lift), Marbury Country Park and a prize winning salt mining museum (http://lionsaltworks.org/) with the history of salt mining and subsidence. In Northwich is the Weaver Hall museum (http://www.cheshirewestmuseums.org) and a small marina on the River Weaver which has 2 Victorian swing bridges. We are also 3 mins drive from walks along the Trent & Mersey Canal or 10 mins from Delamere Forest. Within 30 mins drive we have Tatton Hall, Arley Hall which has splendid gardens and is where Peaky Blinders is filmed and Duham Massey.

We are surrounded by beautiful countryside having a multitude of walks and pretty villages. We are 30 mins drive from Chester (http://www.visitchester.com) with its Roman remains, cathedral, wall walks and stylish shops. To the west we are an hour from North Wales with its beaches, Llandudno resort and Snowdonia (http://www.visitsnowdonia.info/) and Liverpool (http://www.visitliverpool.com). To the north lies the Lake District while to the east is Manchester, Derbyshire, the Pennines and Yorkshire. Leeds takes an hour using the M62.

We are 10 mins drive from the M56 and M6 motorways and Manchester or Liverpool airports are a 20 mins drive, while picturesque and historic Shrewsbury is one hour to the south on the A49.
