Description of the home we are offering for exchange
4 bedroom detached house on the edge of edinburgh. Two of the bedrooms are doubles (on en suite) and there are two single rooms with an extra mattress for 2 people to share each room. It has a front and back garden with summer house, patio and decking. a Tv/Film room with projector and a large reception room. A nice kitchen dining room with table big enough for 10 people

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
It is a quiet neighbourhood on the edge of edinburgh, as it consists of purely residential properties the streets are quiet and you can walk out of our street and be in the hills in 10 minutes. There is a small corner shop 2 minutes walk away, and a row of shops down the road including a couple of bars, restaurants, coffee shops and a small co-op supermarket.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
The pentland hills are 5 minutes walk from our house, these give you great views of edinburgh and the Forth. There are also mountain bike tracks, various walks around the Pentlands as well as opportunities to fish in the reservoir.
There are two buses that terminate within 10 minutes walk of the house both of which take you into the city centre (25 minutes) and all the way to Leith (stops beside ocean terminal and the Royal Yacht Britannia). In Edinburgh there is the castle, the parliament buildings, Holyrood palace, Arthurs seat, various museums, historic buildings and art galleries.
During most of August Edinburgh hosts the Edinburgh Festival (https://www.edfringe.com), with thousands of comedy, music, plays, theatre etc products at hundreds of venues alongside street performers.
The Edinburgh Tattoo which takes place outside the castle and hosts military bands from the Uk and abroad (https://www.edinburghfestivalcity.com/festivals/royal-edinburgh-military-tattoo)
Our house is also only a few minutes from the edinburgh ring road and in an hour you can be in Glasgow, Stirling or Perth. There are various castles within an hour of Edinburgh (Stirling, Craigmiller, Tantallon, Blackness, etc)
Various beaches are within and hour driving distance with Gullane, North Berwick and Aberdour popular.

We will take good care of your home, as we hope you will do the same in return. We are flexible with the dates and would like 2 weeks, but are happy with just one week as we plan travelling a few days before the holiday in Norway. we are looking at early August, which if you want to see the Edinburgh Festival would be the best time.
We have a couple of kayaks that can be used as well as 4 mountain bikes (2 for kids) and a paddleboard
