We are a retired couple who have enjoyed 17 exchanges to date though not in the past 3 years whilst our OZ family were staying in Scotland. We have travelled many parts of the world but especially enjoy having time with family in both Brisbane and New Zealand. Have also hosted other retired couples which went extremely well with our local knowledge. My cousins live in Taupo and Hamilton , which we know well.
Our daughter lives in Edinburgh with her family which is why we can do non simultaneous exchanges to suit desired dates.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Banchory is a pretty town on the edge of the Grampian National Park and is loved by holidaymakers. It is situated in Royal Deeside with its many castles and distilleries. We are only 20 minutes from quaint villages with beautiful beaches .Check out Stonehaven with it's unique open air swimming pool kept at 19 degrees .Aberdeen is our nearest international airport and is only 30 minutes away with many cinemas and theatres. Banchory has its own cinema and theatre as does the nearest village, Aboyne. We are very fortunate with cultural venues for all tastes. Each of the towns holds their highland games, the most famous being Braemar gathering when the royals always attend and the Lonach gathering when 80 formidable Scots dressed in highland dress march the 30 miles to the gathering to the skirl of the pipes, a sight to behold!!
There are many golf courses within easy reach and golf clubs with electric buggies can be left for your use.Friends maybe able to take you on to our course for a song if you so wish.We are keen e bikers and have endless quiet cycle trails to enjoy.Bikes can be hired locally. Many beautiful walks locally and further afield, a list of both bike trails and walks can be left if you want to try them out to see the beautiful countryside away from the car.Local buses are frequent and take you up to Braemar or into Aberdeen, a great way to see the countryside.Trains run frequently from Stonehaven and Aberdeen
For the foodie lover, we have 13 eateries within 1 mile, catering for all tastes.
In Scotland, most art galleries and museums are free, there are a few within easy reach.Aberdeen, our nearest city, boasts 3 and we have a magnificent art gallery.
Loch Ness and Edinburgh with it's annual festival are accessible but an overnight stay is advised to enjoy them fully
We have hosted a few couples who have loved our Scottish sense of humour as well as our local knowledge taking them to places the ordinary holidaymaker might miss.
