This was our first house swap! Hence we didn't quite know what to expect but everything was arranged and organised perfectly we couldn't have been made more welcome by Christopher and Catherine who we now correspond with regularly on What's App. A lovely chilled time on the edge of a forest, so peaceful and lots of walking in a very safe environment. The polish are very outgoing people. An excellent experience all round and we look forward to more house swaps with Homelink.

Christopher and Catherine went out of their way to welcome us and make us feel at home. Because of flights we arrived a day early but they didn't let us stay in a hotel; Christopher picked us up at the airport, and gave us a scenic drive home through Warsaw. We had a delightful dinner together, with many delicious Polish foods--fantastic! The next day he took us on a walking tour of old, reconstructed Warsaw--fascinating--and parts of modern Warsaw. Our new friends left for our house in Rabat early the next morning, leaving us in their lovely home and garden. Unfortunately, my husband fell ill right away and stayed ill for the first 5 days; I was ill for the second five! So we didn't see more of Warsaw, or Krakow or Gdansk as we had planned. We were happy to be in this lovely home rather than in a hotel! I took walks in the nearby forest and in the neighborhood, and drove to the market and the pharmacy which were easy and accessible. Christopher kept in touch and provided any help he could, including medical advice from a relative. So while we didn't see much of Poland, we had a delightful time with our hosts--friendly, helpful, intelligent and interesting to talk to--and we enjoyed the peaceful neighborhood and forest. We definitely recommend this exchange and trust future exchangers will see more than we did of this fascinating country.

Nice, comfortable house. Main problem was lack of safety guardrails on terraces and stairs.
