Their house is very comfortable and we felt so much at home. We absolutely loved exploring the region, the south island landscape is just amazing. Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

A 5 minute walk to Bakery, Subway, Cafes, Bar/Restaurant, Full Medical Services, Pharmacy, Hair Salon, Max Beauty, Grocery store. Walk or Short drive to Larger shopping complex - New World - groceries, Gift shop, Westpac Bank, Library and swimming pool. Bus stop to central city 5 mins walk goes via several malls - buses run every 15 mins. Malls and Hospital easy access by bus. Airport bus service close by.
Numerous Golf clubs within a short drive, Halswell Bowling Club close by.
Kaikoura - whale watching 2 hrs drive north. Waipara Vineyards 45 mins drive north. Akaroa 80 min drive - shuttle buses available. Hanmer 1hr 30min drive north.
Various Walking tracks on the Port Hills. Swimming at Sumner Beach 20 mins drive. Local pool in Halswell by the library. Visit Lyttelton Harbour and Diamond Harbour - ferry across from Lyttelton. Museum, Botanical Gardens, Art Gallery all in central city along with many eateries. Much more to do includes Snow Skiing - Mt Hutt, Porters Pass. Trans Alpine Train Trip.
Fitness Centre/Gym 5 mins walk. Westlake Park nice stroll.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules

If you wish, a house cleaner is available at your expense. There is a full size single Daybed with full size single trundle (both with good quality inner sprung mattresses) that could be used - these are upstairs however we do use that 3rd bedroom as a dressing room.
One Queen bed is in downstairs bedroom and another Queen bed in Main Bedroom upstairs. All beds are very comfortable. 2 Heatpump/cooling systems - 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs.
There is a 4 burner hooded gas BBQ along with 2 outdoor table and chair sets to use.
I have one adult son living in Christchurch who can be contacted if you need assistance while here.
