Description of the home we are offering for exchange
MEMBERS SINCE 2010
Our home in Christchurch is on a private driveway of three homes, with lovely neighbours. It is an architecturally designed home built in 1995. We have lived here since January 2015 when we moved from Wellington, New Zealand. On the ground floor there is a light filled, well-equipped kitchen. Alongside sits a six-seater dining table and a lovely area for relaxing. On warm days open the french doors to enjoy the garden or cook a barbecue.
Our TV is located in the lounge - a lovely spacious room where you can watch TV, listen to music and enjoy the gas fire. Also downstairs is a play room filled with toys which can also sleep 1 if needed. A laundry, family bathroom, separate toilet and garage complete the downstairs. Upstairs there is a spacious master bedroom, twin room and another double room. Also a large bathroom and separate toilet. You are welcome to use our Nespresso machine, sewing machine, kids toys, toboggan, tent, bikes, books, barbecue, etc.

Setting
Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our neighbourhood is quiet and well located on the outskirts of the central city. It was not badly affected in the earthquakes of 2011. Within a five minute walk of our home you will find a convenience store, public library with postal services, playground and park. A five minute drive will take you to a supermarket, dry cleaner, bakery, pharmacy, restaurants and takeaway stores. We are very close to the road leading to the airport or to the main road (State Highway 1) running along the east coast of the South Island. To enjoy the central city you can take a bus (about 30 minutes) or drive (10 minutes).

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Within a ten minute drive from our home you could be enjoying the Botanic Gardens, Canterbury Museum, Christchurch Art Gallery, Hagley Park, and the Centre of Contemporary Art. You could be seeing the earthquake rebuild of the central city by tram or on foot, walking or punting along the Avon River, or shopping at the newly built central city. Christchurch is the launching point for the Antarctic Programmes of many countries of the world and the Antarctic Centre is a must-
see. If you are keen on golf, skiing, mountain biking or vineyards they are all within reach of the city. There are many golf courses all around the city, skiing is just over an hour away, many bike trails within a 30 minute drive and vineyards only a 45 minute drive. From our home the beach suburbs are about a 40 minute drive where you can walk, swim, surf and wind surf. The colonial French settlement of Akaroa is a lovely day drip from Christchurch, where you can see dolphins, penguins, go kayaking and much more.
