We are a family of four, Eirik is Norwegian, Nicky is from Malta and we have two little vikings - Sebastian (5) and Jacob (2). We met on our Masters course in the UK in 2004 and lived and worked in London after that until 2013, when we decided to try out life in the North of Europe. We have set up a lovely home just a short distance from Norway's capital, Oslo.
We are passionate about interiors, art, food and travel. We have travelled extensively both as a couple and as a family. We love to take our little ones on adventures and we have made travel a big part of our family life. Our last big adventure was spending 2 months in Australia in 2016/17. Staying in homes when we travel is special, we think, as you get an insight into what life can really be like in that place and get a more local experience. We have also realised that its a lot more comfortable and convenient with 2 young children!
We usually rent via airbnb or other channels but we have now decided to give house swapping a try as we would also love to share our home and all that beautiful Oslo and Norway have to offer.
With our house, comes also the possibility to use a cabin near the mountains 3.5 hours from Oslo.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in a smart, quiet suburb in the West of Oslo just 3 minutes walk to the metro, which gets you into Oslo city centre in 20 minutes. It also takes the same amount of time to drive into Oslo. There are showing centres and all you could need very nearby (5 minute drive or 5 minutes on the metro). There are nice forest walks not far from the house and in the winter your very own frozen lake to go ice skating on! There are all sorts of facilities around us - cross country skiing tracks, slopes for downhill skiing, canoeing/ kayaking on the Oslo fjord, hiking, beautiful lakes. The options are endless! Or you could of course just decide to enjoy all the delights of Oslo, including amazing restaurants, the beautiful opera house and many interesting museums.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We have few rules and the details of what to take note of will be explained once a house exchange is agreed. Just look after our lovely home like it were your own! We will certainly do the same.
In Norway, shoes are not worn indoors so they are to be taken off at the entrance and you'll be greeted with underfloor heating and a lovely warm house on the colder days!
