Description of the home we are offering for exchange
The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood, on the top of a hill that gives you a phenomenal view of the surroundings: the fjord and city of Oslo, the mount Kolsås. The apartment is a the end of the building with balconies/windows on three sides. The building has its own park with bench,tables, swings, and barbecue. In Norway the sommer evening last all night and you will be able to enjoy being outddors!
In the apartment you will find:
A spacious hallway, with guest toilets.
Four bedrooms:
Bedroom 1: double bed (120 cm wide) and a small desk
Bedroom 2: double bed (120 cm wide) and a big desk
Bedroom 3: to single beds (bunkbed, 90 cm wide) and a small desk
Bedroom 4: double bed (160 cm wide) and its own balcony, on the east side,
A well furnished kitchen. I am French and I love cooking so you will find all kinds of equipment and spices. The round dinner table have four seatings but can expand and gives place to up to 8 people.
Living room:
Comfortable corner sofa with TV (42')
A table than can be used as a desk or as a dining table. It can also expand with room to up to 10 people.
A balcony where you can enjoy the view, elax in the hammock or have your meal the table.
One bathroom with shower, toilets,washing-machine and tumble-dryer.
The apartment is at the 3rd floor and there is no elevator.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The apartment is situated right outside Oslo's west side, next to a metro station that will take you to downtown Oslo in 20 minutes It is a quiet and green neighborhood. There are several a grocery store at walking distance, including one open 7/7 very close by. There are also two restaurants at walking distance as well (Pakistanese and tapas). 20 minutes walk away (or three minutes by metro) you will find Bekkestua, a charming little city center with all facilities.
Right behind the building you will find two full-sized soccer fields (one serving as ice-skating field in the winter). From the apartment you have also immediate access to nice walks/runs trails in the woods (for example the Sæter farm).
Five minutes away (by metro or by ca)r you are at ready to hike up to Kolsåstoppen (Mount Kolsås, were my profile picture was taken which will give you a stunning view. In the summer you might be able to pick blueberries on the top.
Under ten minutes drive (or bike ride) you will reach several beaches, like Sarbuvollen. You should also visit the Hennie Onstad Art Center. It is a modern museum situated by the beach, near as well as a fine coastal walk trail and offers with activities for kids, and a nice café/restaurant.
As an alternative to Oslo you will find that Sandvika (further west) is a nice little city (4 km away, buses takes you there as well) you will be able to see the old bridge painted by Claude Monet, visit the peninsula og Kalvøya with great recreation possibilities, cafes, theater and restaurants. The old fishung boats "Rigmor" and "Rigfar" will take you to nearby islands in the summer for recreation and adventure.
And of course there is Oslo! A great and small capital surrounded by the sea and the mountains, with a lot of nature and culture to offer as well as many great restaurants.
