Originally from Kent, England we emigrated to New Zealand in 2003 with our two daughters who have now married lovely Kiwi men and we have 2 gorgeous grandchildren who we are lucky, live nearby but are a good reason why we remain in New Zealand.
We are a professional, recently retired couple – Dave was an IT Manager with British and NZ Telecom and Glynis has been a teacher/lecturer at The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand and in the Prisons in UK and NZ.
In 2011 we purchased and embarked on the restoration of Elderslea Manor to save it from demolition – it has been hard work and a money ‘pit’ but everyone thinks it has been worth it. We have created the two suites that we let out to give us an income and for the ‘old lady’ to give us something back in return. Our two suites have a 9.5/10 overall rating. One of these suites, the Maid's Quarters is fully equipped for long stays. We like to return to UK as often to visit family &friends which is why we have decided to do exchanges.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We have spent a great deal of effort and money in restoring our home and expect our guests to treat our house with respect and look after the property as we will do with any property we may use. Children welcome but noise will need to be kept to a reasonable level due to the fact that we have another suite that is let out to visitors. Pool and outdoor spa is used by the family and guests to the house. Happy for long or short term swaps.
Following a first disastrous exchange where we turned up to a non simultaneous exchange property in Edinburgh UK that was so dirty we would not even stay a single night and cost us more than 1000GBP to find last minute alternative accommodation, we are only interested in exchanging with like minded people who take a pride in their property with a high standard of cleanliness. We would love to hear from you if you can accommodate us for 1 or 2 weeks during in the UK in August / September / October 2017.
