We are active retirees who love to travel. So far we have done 12 exchanges with more planned for this year. We are loving this way to travel as we feel more immersed in a culture and neighbourhood than if we were staying in a hotel.
When we are home we are either enjoying our lovely home or travelling around NZ in our 5th wheeler motorhome catching up with friends and family. When we are in residence we like to walk, bike, meet friends for coffee, entertain and fit in community work where possible.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
MEMBERS SINCE 2012
We are a retired couple looking for exciting places to travel to.
We live in a modern sunny 2 level house in a quiet friendly neighbourhood, with great indoor/outdoor living, including bbq, and outdoor fireplace.
Main king bedroom has ensuite, second queen bedroom shares a large bathroom with the 3rd twin bedroom.
Tauranga is a small coastal city with a temperate climate just over 2 hrs from Auckland airport.There is a domestic airport in Tauranga.We live only a 5 min drive to the city centre by car or bus. We have some of NZ's best beaches on our doorstep at Mt Maunganui -just 10 mins drive.
Rotorua, the thermal and cultural centre of NZ is less than 1 hr away, with beautiful Lake Taupo less than 2 hrs
Tauranga is also a good access point for visiting the beautiful Coromandel peninsula and many of our exchangers have made our house a base for a couple of days exploring that area.,

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our home is in a cul-de-sac in a friendly established area of the city. We have great neighbours, including experienced HomeLinkers over the fence. We are walking distance to a big supermarket and close to bus routes to the city centre. The best Indian takeaway is just 5 mins walk away, with a lovely restaurant a short drive or walkable distance from our home.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
We are only 10-15 minutes drive to one of the best beaches in the world, Mt Maunganui, as rated by Trip Advisor. The walk around the base of Mt Maunganui is also one of the most popular ways to get some gentle exercise. For the more energetic then you will be rewarded with gorgeous views from the top.
Closer to home is a lovely walk around an estuary with some nice cafes in walking distance or a short drive.
