Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Architecturally designed for light and views, three stories with stairs. Built in 1989.
We often have a swim before breakfast. We can hear the sound of the sea as we go to sleep at night.
We are across the street from a safe, clean beach, swimable between December and March. It is 10 min by bus, 15 min by bike, 35 min by foot to the village of Devonport, then a 10 min ferry ride to downtown Auckland.
Ground floor: entry, 1 bedroom w/ double bed, bathroom
Our studio apartment, separate from you, is also on this floor with our 2 cats.
First floor: up some stairs to living room, dining room, kitchen - 3 decks off each.
Second floor: steep stairs to one small sleeping room. Must like sunrises, no curtain

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our neighbourhood is made up of individual private homes and is focused on Narrow Neck Beach. We have lovely neighbours. We are within a 30 minute walk into Devonport. From there, a short ferry ride takes you to downtown Auckland.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
It is a lovely 15 minute ferry ride into downtown Auckland from Devonport. Many ferries depart from Auckland for the islands in the gulf. Devonport has cafes,restaurants, art galleries and beautiful seaside walks. We are 3 hours by car to Rotorua, 3 hours to Bay of Islands as well as an hour from west coast beaches. We offer you a folder full of possible day trips and restaurant/shopping suggestions.
