Haarlem is a great historic city, which has a lot to offer, but was also the ideal starting point for many excursions. Among other things, we visited some small towns on the North Sea, which was very relaxing. Everything was fine, thanks for the relaxed and uncomplicated contacts ... Have a good time, best regards from Coburg Chris and Frank

Read More...We really enjoyed our stay in Haarlem, at Carla & Yan's place. Their lovely house is situated in a nice neighborhood 10 minutes cycling to the beautiful city of Haarlem following the canal 10 km from the sea crossing a beautiful park & 20 minutes to Amsterdam by train. The house was just perfect to us and Carla & Yan even let some of their grand-children's games which our daughters enjoyed a lot playing with. For us it was the place to be this summer.

Combine the best of 2 worlds: visit Amsterdam and stay in picturesque and historic Haarlem, the most Belgium city of the Netherlands representing 8 centuries of tangible history. The Lonely Planet says: Haarlem belongs to the 10 hidden jewels of Europe!
Haarlem is famous for its art nouveau railway station, its beautiful "hofjes" (almshouses) and of course the Sint-Bavo Church.
We live in a sunny, comfortable house, 10 cycling minutes to the city center and 20 cycling minutes to the beach. Walking opportunities and the dunes around the corner. Public transport brings you 6 times per hour within 16 minutes to Amsterdam Centraal station, to Leiden, the Hague and Rotterdam. This makes us an all weather destination.
You might see a cat on one of the pictures. Unfortunately he died. We do have a little well educated dog and we always want to travel with her.
