This was our second exchange with Douwe and Anjo. We have been fortunate to meet in person! Their home in Alkmaar offers every comfort and is in a great location. 15 minute walk to the center and the famous Alkmaar Cheese Market every Friday and 5 minutes walk to the train station that will get you anywhere you want to go. Anjo and Douwe and easy to communicate with, friendly, accessible and offer a perfect exchange!! Thank you Anjo and Douwe! To be continued.....

It was our first time to exchange houses and it went very well. We have met Douwe and Anjo because they came to us and stayed the night and we went to Alkmaar the next day. I knew the house because I was born in the same neighborhood. So I knew there were a lot of stairs. But the house was nice, cosy and very clean. And nearby everything you needed. It was a very good first house exchange.

Douwe was so welcoming of me and also left a range of excellent information about the home and area. The home was lovely, comfortable and very central to everything in the beautiful city of Alkmaar. We hope to return!

We spent great days in Alkmaar, beautiful town from where it is easy to visit every part of North Holland. The house is a typical dutch house, nice and very well equipped, and located in a quiet area, close to the city center. A big thank you to Douwe and Anjo for their kindness and their hospitality !...

We had a great time but it was a long time coming. It was delayed a year due to COVID. Alkmaar was in a very good location. We could go to City Center each day in Alkmaar to explore. The town was wonderful and we enjoyed the canals and the cheese market. We were able to see a festival the happens only once a year. It was great fun. We spent time in Amsterdam and Rotterdam and the city called Utrecht by train.We would be happy to entertain Douwe and Anjo in the future. I highly suggest this exchange for anyone who wants beautiful canals, great food, and very nice people.

Das Haus von Douwe und Anjo ist perfekt um Alkmaar (Zentrum) und die Umgebung zu erkunden. Das historische "Trapje on Trapje af"-Haus hat viel charme, ist sehr interessant und vor allen Dingen perfekt ausgestattet. Die Umgebung ist ruhig, das Meer sehr nahe. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und können das Haus empfehlen.

Douwe and Anjo's home was spotless, welcoming, comfortable, had everything you need and more, and a perfect location to explore Alkmaar and the country!
