David is a retired Pathologist and I am a retired English teacher. We have worked and visited several countries and have chosen Ajijic, Mexico to live most of the year. We volunteer to teach English to adults as part of the services the local Chapala Lake Society gives to the Ex-pat community and the surrounding towns and villages. Although there are thousands of residents and visitors from all over the world, the cultural aspects of small town Mexico still remain. Arts and crafts, traditional music, picturesque gardens, colourful landscapes, mountain hiking, spiritual walks, first-class symphony and ballet all abound here. The cobblestones streets create a unique and challenging walking experience as does the occasional cow that greets you on the road. Mexicans love their horses and the Vaqueros ride proudly through the streets showing off their expertise. You will definitely go home with a woven scarf, embroidered blouse or shirt, and Talavera tile dish. All in all, it is fun to be here.
