We loved living like locals in Koshigoe! Michael's and Machiko's home is spectacular on top of the hill. Really felt like we were locals!

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Please do not send us offers of exchange for 2020.
The house is located in Kamakura, a green town in the suburbs of the Tokyo area, famous for its historical flair and the beach. The home is on the top of a hill in walking distance (15 minutes) to the ocean and an urban woodland. Conveniently situated halfway between the pulsating metropolis of Tokyo and the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, Kamakura is a perfect place to live in the Kanto region and discover the modern Japan as well as its fascinating history and beauty of its nature.
It is a two-story house with a small garden and a parking lot (built in 2008). The main floor is open concept with a fully equipped kitchen, a living and dining area and a traditional Japanese style tatami room, which can be used as a bedroom. There is a bathroom in the first floor with a modern bath tub, a washing machine and a separated washlet. The second floor has three bedrooms and one more bathroom with a washlet. The home is ideally suited for families with children.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Although Kamakura is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Tokyo area, the neighborhood is tranquil and green. The house is situated on a dead-end street in a family neighborhood and close to supermarkets and restaurants. It is a 7-minute walk to the next station, and one can easily reach different parts of Tokyo within 45 to 60 minutes using one of the three railway lines nearby.
