Killaloe is the starting point of the Shannon Cruise and from here you can sail all the way to Sligo. During the summer, Killaloe is full with mooring barges and holidaymakers giving the village a unique and charming atmosphere. There are plenty of water activities and sports available – while you can also hire boats for personal use. Short cruises around the River Shannon and Lough Derg are also available. The village itself is a pretty network of narrow streets surrounded by old houses and shops.

Our house is situated in Killaloe and is a short walk from the heart of the twinned town of Ballina and Killaloe. The town is bustling with cafés and a farmers market to buy local goods. Clarisford Park is a short stroll away and is designated as a prime wildlife conservation area in Ireland & Europe. The town also has a plethora of picturesque loop walks, one of which is a "self guided" tour of the historical town. Killaloe boasts an abundance of Water Sports including Kyacking, Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) and Sailing.
