We stayed in the Bergin’s family home from July 31st to August 5th 2020. On arrival we found the house was beautifully presented and very welcoming. Their home is spacious and nicely decorated. Our children loved the mezzanines in the bedrooms. The garden to the rear is very pleasant and has a lovely little play house. The decking area is covered so in rain or shine one could sit and enjoy the view. The property is situated within walking distance of Galway city centre. We enjoyed a walk into town one day to wander among the stalls of the open markets followed by fish and chips in McDonaghs on Quay street. On another day we visited the promenade in Salthill – the kids even joined the locals by having a dip in the sea. A trip we had been looking forward to was made to Kylemore Abbey. Its about an hours drive through some lovely scenery and the Abbey itself is spectacular. A stroll around and a bite to eat was a pleasant way to spend the day. Towards the end of our stay we visited some friends and relatives to tie up what was a lovely time in a lovely place. On our arrival back to our own home in Meath we found our house to be in a spotless condition. Thanks very much to the Bergin family from the Keane family – we had a great time and hope yee had as good an experience.

We had a wonderful time in Galway, exploring the city and the coast. The house is nice and comfortable. Just a few steps away there is a nice green park, you can walk or cycle along the river to the city center. Galway is a vivid and interesting city, it was really fun discovering it by bike, which Michelle generously offered. You can go to the coast and there are lots of nice restaurants and cafés. We also discovered the area by going on bus trips and renting a car. Following Michelles advice we e. g. went to the Aran islands by boat and cycled around the island, that was a great trip and a very impressive landscape. Michelle was always very friendly and helpful. So a warmly recommended exchange for discovering Galway/Ireland!

We had a pleasant stay at Michelle's and Andrew's home. The house is very cosy, our kids had lots of toys to play with. The master bedroom is a bit noisy, because of the street next to the garden but the kids slept very well: their bedrooms are at the front of the house which is a very quiet cul de sac. The cat "Fluffy" is a cute little one who stays in the garden and the garden is a beautiful jewel! We often took the bikes and scooters to go to city centre (just about 15 minutes), 50 metres away you can stroll through the woods and along the riverside. The seashore is only a short drive away and we took several dips in the ocean. Thanks a lot for swapping homes with us and for leaving our home so well in order!
