We are an outgoing family of 4. We are new to home link and we are excited at the prospect of sharing our home with others and visiting new places. We love to spend time outside walking, cycling, kayaking and swimming. We live on the beautiful Hook Peninsula and our house is minutes away from 2 beautiful beaches. Our two girls Luna and Hazel love being able to walk to the beach and explore the treasures on offer.

Detached home on the Hook peninsula
Our home is a refurbished cottage with a modern two story extension which allows in plenty of light throughout the year. It is located 200 meters from Carnivan bay in the heart of the historic Hook Peninsula and 500 meters from Baginbun beach where the normans landed in Ireland in 1170. The iconic Hook lighthouse sits on the tip of the Hook Peninsula about a 15 minute drive from the house. This is a great location for kayaking, coastering and other sea activities. Our home is ideal for families and we have plenty of toys, board games, books, swing and trampoline for your kids to enjoy. It is also a great base for exploring further afield eg. Dublin and Cork 2 hrs, Kilkenny 1 hour and Waterford and Wexford 30 minutes. We have a modern fully equipped kitchen to cook and bake.
Our house is situated in Ireland's ancient east on the Hook Peninsula which has a concentration of historically significant sites. The south East of Ireland is traditionally a location for domestic tourists and a great place for international visitors to experience this.
The busy village of Fethard-On-Sea is only 2 minutes drive or a 20 minute walk and has an award winning Gastro bar, Coffee shops, Pubs, Takeaways, Hairdressers, Beautician, Post Office, Adventure Shop and a very well stocked Convenience shop. There is also a playground, castle and walk ways.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in Fethard-On-Sea, on the Hook Peninsula in County Wexford on the South East coast of Ireland. We are 200 metres from beautiful Carnivan beach and 500 metres from historic Baginbun Bay & beach where the Norman’s first landed in Ireland in 1170. The peninsula is steeped in history and stunning beauty. The very popular Hook Lighthouse is a gorgeous attraction on the tip of the peninsula 8km away from the house. The old marketing tag was a beach a day on the peninsula for a fortnight! 2km or 20min walk away from our house is the bustling little village of Fethard-On-Sea, we have fabulous Pubs & Cafes, including Gastro Nevilles Bar, Chinese Restaurant & Chip Shops, Fish Takeaways, Grálinn Bakery and coffee shop, Wheelhouse cafe, 2 hair dressers, a Beautician and lots more and a busy and well stocked grocery store Dillons Londis.
There is many more attractions near by such as Tintern Abby ,Loftus Hall, Duncannon fort,The Irish experience water sports.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
From our house it is a 200 metre walk to stunning Carnivan Beach.... and another 300m to family friendly and historic Baginbun Beach. So no need for the car, just plenty of sunscreen. We have bodyboards and buckets & spades etc... at the house. Swim out to Monkeys Rock and jump off!
The village of Fethard on Sea is a 2 min drive or 20 min walk. Fethard is a great little village, we have fabulous, food, pubs, local beers, cafes, coffee shops, takeaways... etc... all on our doorstep.
New Ross is 25 mins drive away and has lots of little boutiques and coffee shops and the very interesting Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience. Wexford is a 30min drive away and has lots to offer for shopping, cinema, Opera, Art Gallerys. Waterford City is also 30 mins drive (across a short ferry ride). Alternatively we pop up to historic Kilkenny City (a little over an hour).
Locally we drive out to the Hook and park at Slade Harbour and walk along the coast to the lighthouse and back by the road (1hour trek). You can stop for a drink/snack in the lighthouse.
Alternatively, drive to Saltmills and park at the Vine Cottage and walk from there to glorious ancient Tintern Abbey, Walled Garden and Woods. Get lost in the woods and eventually make your way back to the pub and get a pizza and pint outside in their fantastic beer garden. They have a great playground outside for kids too.
Make sure to drop into Graham & Kim in The Irish Experience in the village. They have best kayaking tours from Baginbun to Carnivan. For all ages and experience levels! This year they are offering Coastering along the coast at Slade, The Hook. They also have a great beach shop!

Hi, We would love guests to come and treat our house like you would your own. Get comfy and settled in, walk to the beach in the morning, enjoy lunch / dinner in the village, walk home, relax on the patio... go for an evening swim on Carnivan. Our home is for families and groups of adults. We have 2 separate living rooms, plenty bathrooms and a large patio and garden. Lots of space to chill out! We do not want parties in our home. We do not have animals and therefore unfortunately do not welcome animals. We also do not smoke.
