I am a retired writer, classical musician and an active grandmother. I have lived in Greece for 40 years and love it here. I had this house built to my own specification. I have done over 35 exchanges, mostly in the UK and Ireland, with my beloved partner Philip, recently deceased. Now I intend to set off on my own. I have the experience - all our past exchanges were initiated and organised by me. I look forward to exchanging with you.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Lovely timbered bungalow, in leafy suburb of N.Athens, with central Athens and sea to the south, pine-forested mountains to north.
The house has beamed ceilings throughout. We had it built in 2002. It has two bedrooms, one full bathroom and one WC/shower. Air-conditioning throughout, a grand piano, high quality speakers, a good collection of books and music. The living area is open plan, with living room, kitchen and dining area leading onto a verandah overlooking a copse of pine trees in a quarter of an acre of land, with seating and table. The house is in a wooded suburb, with almost exclusively newly built villas. There is parking for two cars in the garden.
Greece is blessed with too much sunshine, fresh dry air and a beautiful quality of light. Flights with Aegean, B.A. and Easyjet.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
This is a friendly, middle class neighbourhood on the foothills of Mount Parnis, to the north of Athens. From the top of the hill we look down on the city, the Parthenon, the sea and the island of Aegina. It is a quiet, leafy suburb and a welcome refuge from the busyness of the city centre after a day's sight-seeing.
It is a 5 kilometers from the main Athens Salonika highway, and just five minutes drive up into the maze of footpaths in the beautiful wilderness that is now the King's estate. Walks through the woods and over the mountain range are possible for half an hour or six hours.
It takes 20 minutes to drive to the new metro station, with easy parking nearby. From there the train into town takes 25 minutes.
