Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Our home is a comfortable 2-story house located in a small town in Bavaria, right at the edge of the Bavarian Forest (you can start hiking trips right at our door step, in the winter you are 15 min. away from the skiing hills of approx. 900 metres or 3000 feet above sea level). The nearest city is Deggendorf, 6 miles away, on the river Danube. Our quaint little town Hengersberg with approx. 4000 inhabitants has all necessary stores, restaurants and facilities such as public swimming pool, etc. It is located on the Autobahn between two old cities on the Danube, and they were both founded by the Romans: Passau and Regensburg. Passau is best known for its largest church organ in the world (in the cathedral there) Regensburg for its best preserved medieval town center in Germany, and it is registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. We are 150km away from Munich, a 15 minute drive from the nearest major railway station which gets you to Vienna, Austria in about 4 hours. The Bavarian National Park is one hour away and you can reach the Czech and Austrian borders in less than that.
