I am 63 years old and after a life full of work I have decided to take some spare time to travel and to meet people. My son is 36 years old and he encouraged me to take this step. Together with him I have several guest apartments in Heidelberg, and this is our favorite and biggest one. So if you should need something smaller than this apartment, we can also offer apartments just with one bedroom. My husband is an IT professional and always very busy, and this is also a reason to join homelink, as we like to travel but we need a certain infrastructure, as we both work at home. As I am of Italian origin, I love eating and cooking Italian style.

Heidelberg: central but quiet location of spacious American style apartment with 3 bedrooms + 2 toilets + private parking, second floor, no elevator. All bedrooms with TV, large kitchen/lounge area, WLAN, washing machine + tumble dryer available. Very nice area with small restaurants and shops, all important places in walking distance. We speak German, English, French and Italian.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The apartment goes to the back yard of a big building, and it is very quiet, although the neighborhood is quite lively. For your daily shopping there is a grocery store Penny just aside, opening hours from 8 - 22 from Monday -Saturday. In the near neighborhood you will also find many small but very good restaurants, and as this zone is not the main tourist zone, these restaurants are mainly visited by local residents. In a few minutes walking distance you arrive at Bismarckplatz, where the pedestrian zone with many shops and restaurants starts. This pedestrian zone (Hauptstraße) is one of the largest in Europe, and you can find the big international stores as well as many small shops with special offers that you will only find in Heidelberg. If you should take a shuttle service from the airport: the shuttles stop right in front of our house.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
You will find Bismarckplatz within a few minutes walking distance. All the buses for Heidelberg and the region stop here, and the pedestrian zone Hauptstraße starts also here. This pedestrian zone is one of the longest in Europe and you will find many international stores as well as many small shops with special offers, and of course there are also many restaurants, cafes, ice parlors and also sightseeing points. All important places are in walking distance, but you can also use public transport with the city Tarif, which costs only 1,30 EUR/person.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We want you to feel at home away from home when you use our apartment. Nevertheless we prefer that you leave the apartment in a tidy condition. If things break or don't work any more we appreciate that you inform us about that. In any case please contact us if there should be any problem. Please consider that other people in the house have to get up early in the morning to leave for work, don't be noisy after 23h. As we are all non smokers, the apartment is a non smoking area.
Baby beds and high chairs are available, just tell us if you should need that.
