There are 3 bakers, a charcuterie, a fromagerie, 2 small supermarkets and a good market as well as the usual newsagents and cafes. A good choice of restaurants, with excellent seafood. From April there is a programme of activities + concerts on the beach in high season. Explore the old town with its unique collection of belle epoque 'villas' or enjoy the beach which stretches for miles. Alternatively head inland to explore the countryside and pretty villages, perhaps to buy local cider or cheese. Plenty of good walks accessible direct from the apartment - a grande randonnee footpath can be joined 100 metres away. Drive [15 minutes] or take bus/local train to Deauville for shopping and people watching, or to Trouville for old town, promenade and fish market. Further afield [1 hour] are the D Day landing beaches and war cemeteries, Bayeux tapestry, Caen Memorial, galleries in Honfleur and Le Havre and further yet, Rouen and Giverny.
