Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Rennes is a fine historical city situated in center Brittany . It became part of France in the 15 Th century with Anne de Bretagne who married the french King Charles VIII.
Today it is one of the most dynamic city in the west coast, where life is very pleasant. Rennes won in 2016 the Seal: "The best city where to live in France ". Don't forget to go for a stroll ( every Saturday morning from 7 am to 1 pm ) to one of the most beautiful and outstanding food market in France : local farmers, speciality of Brittany etc..
In the north part, visit The famous Mont Saint Michel, the historic cities of Saint Malo and Dinan with their high Rampart , enjoy sea food in Cancale, beautiful villages in landscape and a lot of historical castles.
In the south part the town of Nantes on the Loire River at one hour drive or by train. The city of La Baule and its sandy beach ( 8 km long ) and the magic Golfe of Morbihan. Not so fare "La Vallée de La Loire " where you can taste different types of wine and see the cave-dweller's settlement.
You can daily reach Paris by direct Express train ( every hour ) in only 1 hour 25 mn and why not come back the same day by the later train or spend a wonderful and unforgettable evening in the french capital.
