Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Spacious and comfortable house with neat and personalized decoration. It was entirely renovated four years ago by a Parisian architect. Pleasant and easy to live in, the house is bright, and has a big patio that is great to spend time on during spring and summer. View on the mountains (Jura and Alps). Private and secure swimming pool. Large garden. Close to all the local public transport facilities, national as well as international (bus and tram to Geneva, 15min drive to the airport and 30min drive to Geneva train station).
Lake Geneva is 20 minutes away for strolls and bathing.
5 comfortable bedrooms allow for 7 people to stay. The house is well arranged and has spaces both for private and family times. The neighbors are quiet and very nice people. We have four children of very different ages, so small children will find many toys and books adapted to every age.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Between the city and the countryside, our house has the advantage of being close to all local shops (boulangerie, grocery store, butcher’s shop, pharmacy, all a 3min walk away). 5min drive to a big supermarket. Every Sunday on the square in front of the church (that you can see from the house), there is a typically local farmer’s market, with local vegetables and fruits and cheeses. Our boulangerie opens from 7am to 7pm and sells the best baguette around ! The nearby « Parc du château », castle’s park, is a great destination for strolls directly from the house. If you drive, you can find yourself surrounded by nature in 20min, with an unobstructed view on Mt Blanc. But those who love the cities will be charmed as well, because the bus (which departs right in front of the house) and the connected tram will take you in Geneva in 45min and with no need to take the car, and allow you to enjoy the beautiful city of Geneva (lake,theatres, museums…). Northern Italian lakes not so far...

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Placed right on the Swiss border, the Pays de Gex is home to the highest peaks of the Jura, and gives access to incredible panoramas on the Alps and the Mt Blanc. The region is the adoptive land of Voltaire, whose castle you can visit (in Ferney Voltaire, 5min drive from the house). Perfect departure point to visit Switzerland, Italy (Lago Maggiore and Turin at a 3h drive), but also some of the most beautiful frech cities (Lyon 2h, Marseille 4h, Paris). A fast and direct train will allow you to go to Paris in 3h.
The nature is at arm’s length (Mt Blanc 1h30) but the city too (Geneva is 4km away). So are all cultural entertainment facilities (Fondation l’Hermitage in Lausanne, Fondation Martigny).
You can bathe all summer, and the beaches on Lake Geneva are beautiful and clean, and 20min away. In the winter, the closest skiing station is 20min away.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
Nous avons un chat qui est très tranquille et affectueux. il ne demande pas beaucoup de soin, si ce n'est de lui donner à manger et une caresse de temps en temps. Il n'a jamais vécu avec d'autres animaux et supporterait donc difficilement l'arrivée d'un autre animal dans la maison.
Il suffit de tondre le gazon une fois de temps en temps. la piscine réclame plus de soins (aspirateur et contrôle de la qualité de l'eau). les livres, dvd, les jeux des enfants sont à disposition mais doivent être rangés comme à l'arrivée. Nous avons un home cinéma qui permet des soirées bien agréable mais ne doit pas être manipulé par les enfants. La cuisine est bien équipée et tout est à votre disposition. Nous avons un escalier et une piscine dans la maison, par conséquent les jeunes enfants doivent être surveillés de prêt.
