Victoria is the perfect size city and being on Vancouver Island makes for fabulous outdoor activities like cycling, kayaking and hiking and world class salmon fishing. We have an Opera Company, a Symphony and many live Theatre venues. The famous Butchart Gardens are nearby, hiking trails both easy and challenging are close, several beaches, and Vancouver is only an hour and a half ferry ride away, as is Saltspring Island, home to many artists and a wonderful Saturday morning market in the spring summer months. This is an active city, our downtown waterfront area is always alive with great shops, restaurants and sight seeing tourists! You will see lots of cyclists and kayakers. We have the Galloping Goose cycling trail along with the Lochside Trail both starting from downtown and stretching over 30 to 40 kilometres each! Our waters are considered some of the best in the world for kayaking and we have inland lakes minutes away.
