We are semi-retired, with grown children in BC, Alberta and Australia! We have 6 grandchildren and love spending time with family, travel and good food. We enjoy poking in little shops in quaint towns and exploring while we are in new areas. We had the pleasure of several Homelink exchanges in Australia, California and even in our next-door province. We have made many long-lasting friends while on our home exchanges and would recommend this type of travel to everyone!

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Located on the Saanich Peninsula mid-way between scenic Sidney-by-the-Sea and the capital city of British Columbia, Victoria. We are an ideal location in the rural area of Central Saanich and serves nicely as home base for short trips only 20 minutes from the downtown of Victoria.
Our home is spacious, comfortable and peaceful with friendly neighbours and lots to do and see. Use of a 2008 Pontiac Vibe (seats 5). City transit is only a block away. We offer a master bedroom with king-sized bed and full ensuite bath, and three additional bedrooms (a Queen-size, one double and one single-4 bedroom/3 bath). Gas fireplace, full convenience kitchen, family room with a 42" TV and well stocked library downstairs for your leisure time. We are situated on a quiet end of a cul-de-sac with the forest for our backyard with plenty of birds and wildlife. We are within steps from beautiful walking trails and parks and minutes to the village center for shops, bistros, neighbourhood pub and the beachside

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Enjoy world famous attractions such as Butchart Gardens only a 5 minute drive away (also extravagantly decorated at Christmastime!) even kayak throughout Brentwood Bay close to Butchart; golf courses; for the runner, compete in the Island Farms Race Series (Jan-Mar each year). The Galloping Goose Trail is a 60km walk, jog or bike path from Sidney to Sooke and only a short bike away (many stop offs along the way). Also an abundance of wineries on the Peninsula and the Cowichan Valley for the wine enthusiast. Ski Mt. Washington a smooth 2 hours drive north on the Island. Our home is 10 minutes to the Victoria International Airport and only 15 minutes to the ferry to Vancouver yet maintains the rural ambiance characteristic of Central Saanich. For the teenagers (or young at heart) try the zipline in Sooke http://www.adrenalinezip.com/ for a day of adventure. A short drive to Nanaimo (1.5hrs) takes you to another level of adventure - bungie jumping and more ziplining
