Our house in on a quiet street but it is one block from Roncesvalles, which is the high street of a really great 'European Style' neighbourhood. This is not a suburb where you have to get in your car to go anywhere. You can walk to everything you need or hop on a streetcar, subway or even a bike lane to get anywhere further afield. We have some great restaurants on Roncesvellas (Pizzeria Defina, Barque Smokehouse and many, many more) and a gem of a place for live music (Gate 403, a bar and eatery, has two different groups/artists every day of the week). High Park is a massive green space which is also a very short walk from the house. A pond, multiple off-leash areas, bike paths, a zoo, a cafe, tennis courts and lots of open or wooded space to enjoy. If you like biking you can be on the Waterfront Trail (which travels along Lake Ontario all the way to Niagara Falls) in a couple of minutes. If you like to listen to live music in intimate venues you will be able to walk to that too.
