We are a family of 4. Nigel and Lori and grown kids Rachel (a nursing student) and Russell (an engineering student) who do not travel with us any longer. Lori is a retired accountant and Nigel is a Learning Specialist at a bank and looking forward to retirement. Nigel is also a musician playing saxophone in a number of bands. We have had many successful exchanges: Norway 2019, Sweden 2017, France 2016, Portugal 2013, Scotland 2012, France 2011, Netherlands 2010, England 2009. We love this way of experiencing other countries as a family.

HAVE EXCHANGE FOR 2024
We are a banker and retired accountant - with two grown children (23 and 21)
Our 2,700 square foot pet and smoke-free home (4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, fully finished basement) is located 35 minutes outside of downtown Toronto in a quiet neighbourhood called Pickering Village in the Town of Ajax, Ontario, Canada.
We have a gorgeously landscaped yard, privately fenced. There's an exercise room with new equipment - weights, elliptical, treadmill and stationary bike. We have wireless hi-speed internet access so bring your laptop.
Our master bedroom has a king sized bed and a full en suite bathroom. Our daughter's bedroom has a queen bed. Our son's bedroom has a double bed. The guest bedroom has a queen bed.
For entertainment we have surround sound TV, PS3 and PS4 game consoles, Netflix and several DVD players. The house is air-conditioned. We have a gas BBQ.
Feel free to use our bicycles.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We are an eight minute walk from the Village which boasts several restaurants including German (excellent schnitzel!), Chinese, two Indian, a west Indian, a Jamaican restaurant, Japanese/Korean and an ice cream parlour.
Steps from an extensive woodland trail network that extends along Duffins Creek 5 KM down to Lake Ontario where it joins the Trans-Canada trail. Along this trail you will see the largest wind turbine in North America. Alternatively, you can drive to the lakefront in 10 minutes to access beach front parks (playgrounds, splash pads, lakeside trails and paths).
We are an eight minute drive to the local commuter train station which has several departures daily to downtown Toronto (about 35 minute train ride for about $6 each way). Take in Blue Jays baseball games or Toronto FC Soccer matches.
Walk to Riverside, a par three, nine-hole executive golf course. Feel free to use our golf clubs. A public indoor swimming pool is a 5 minute drive. Family swim costs $2/person

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
A 15 minute drive takes you to the Metro Toronto Zoo. There's a gorgeous beach in Cobourg 40 minutes away. And the Ontario Science Centre (a must see for all ages) is 30 minutes away. World famous Niagara Falls is a comfortable 1.5 hour drive. Shakespeare and Shaw theatre festivals are under two hours away. Going north 1.5 hours takes you to the famous Muskoka cottaging region.
Day trips include: beaches, provincial parks for fossil collecting, bird watching and forest walks, excellent outdoor theatre, Lang Pioneer Village, Canada's Wonderland for rides, slides and roller coasters.
