Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Very private and quiet with an outstanding view from most of the rooms, our home is located in Maple Bay area, Duncan on Vancouver Island. It's surrounded by douglas fir and arbutus trees and a free maintenance zen garden. You'll find around 3500 sq f on 3 levels, large rooms, an extensive kitchen, large deck with hot tub, sauna, 3 full bathroom + 2 pc bathroom on the main level, office used as a gym room (bench press with weights), double garage and craft room. It' s located 5 minutes from ocean, beach, marina, pub, float plane terminal and 10 mn drive from down town Duncan.
Located in the beautiful Cowichan Valley, 1hour from Victoria or Nanaimo, the summer weather is gorgeous, the house is well ventilated by a soft marine breeze and never required air conditioning. The possibilities of outdoor activities are endless (sea kayak, many hikes, diving, boating...) The nature is accessible at your doorstep (eagles, vulture, dear, seals, otters, orca...) and very generous

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Our house is nestled in the tall trees of the Pacific Cost on a rocky hill overlooking the ocean. The house is very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The view is breathtaking, the natural environment is exceptional and the summer temperatures just perfect in this very special area of Vancouver Island. Usually, people are coming in this part of Canada to enjoy outdoor activities such as boating, kayaking, fishing (ocean, river, lake), diving, hiking, camping, mountain biking, photography, horse back riding.....In a short walk from the house, you can go to the pebble beach, the marina, the pub or café-bakery. There are also 2 public tennis courts free of use. Within 10 mn driving you are in the town of Duncan where you can find all the necessary commercial amenities, aboriginal culture at each corner, two well known summer music, festival, local fresh food market places, many restaurants, fitness and yoga center, swimming pool, theater...Then you can drive to Victoria or Nanaimo.
