The village of Dundry in North Somerset enjoys a peaceful rural position, overlooking both Bristol City to the north and Chew Valley Lake and the Mendips to the south. It is ideally situated to explore the cities of Bristol, Bath and many other tourist locations, as well as enjoying all the countryside walks, cycle trails and scenery of this lovely area.
The very beautiful and historic city of Bristol is world renowned and has a wide range of museums highlighting the city's history. It has been voted best UK city to live on a number of
occasions, but is also a great place for tourists, with loads to see and do. It's very popular for city breaks with numerous places to visit: Brunel's SS Great Britain in Bristol's historic harbourside, ferry trips, Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, Berkeley Castle, Botanic Garden, Zoo, guided walks, St Mary Redcliffe Church, Clifton Suspension Bridge and visitor centre and more.
Slightly further afield is the Roman city of Bath which is a World Heritage City and home to the fabulous Roman Baths, The American Museum, Costume Museum, Jane Austin Centre, Royal Crescent and Victoria Art Gallery.
As well as these two cities, both great for city breaks, there is the delightful market town of Wells with it's wonderful cathedral, Bishop's Garden and twice weekly market, South Wales and its magnificent castles, Chepstow Castle, Caerphilly Castle, Goodrich Castle, Castle Coch and Cardiff Castle. Visits to Cheddar and Clevedon are great trips nearby too.
National Trust properties worth visiting are include Tyntesfield, Dyrham Park, Laycock and photographic museum, Stonehenge, Stourhead and Avebury.
