Onze woning ligt in het mooie Haspengouw : de fruitstreek van Belgie met z'n romantische kastelen en typische boerderijen. De streek is gekend voor z'n fietstoerisme, en voor de lekkere streekproducten. Ook kan je de legende van de Bokkerijders achternagaan in onze streek, of een bezoek brengen aan het openluchtmuseum Bokrijk in Genk. Tongeren is de oudste stad van België en is internationaal gekend voor z'n antiekmarkt. Je kan er ook het Gallo-Romeins museum bezoeken. Hasselt is een leuke shoppingstad, en in Genk kom je meer te weten over het mijnverleden. Ook de steden Sint-Truiden en Bilzen zijn zeker de moeite waard. Op redelijke afstand liggen de mooie steden Maastricht, Valkenburg, Aken, Luik, Leuven, Antwerpen, Brussel, Dinant, Namen, Keulen,... Of geniet van de natuur op het blotevoetenpad in Zutendaal, de Voerstreek, de Ardennen of de Eifelregio
