Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
We live in a secure waterfront apartment with spectacular views of the city of Sydney and Darling Harbour. The area is a major tourist hub adjacent to the city centre. The photos show the view from our apartment - we took them from the front balcony, which is a great place to relax after a long day's sightseeing!
The building in which the apartment is located has a full time concierge, security service, a swimming pool on the roof as well as a sauna and small fitness gym for the use of residents. Our home has an open plan design and a light and airy feel. The main bedroom, dressing room and ensuite bathroom are found at one side of the apartment and the kitchen, lounge and dining areas are all located on the other side. In between is found a second bedroom with a double bed, along with an adjacent second bathroom for our guests.
The apartment is well appointed and has everything you would need for a comfortable and successful exchange.

Neighbourhood
Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The Darling Harbour precinct is within easy walking distance to the Sydney Fish markets, the Star Casino, National Maritime Museum, Sydney's Chinatown district, and the popular Paddy's Markets. The Harbour area itself has a wide choice of restaurants, shopping outlets and beautiful parks and gardens to wander in, as well the Sydney Aquarium, wildlife centre and Sydney Chinese Gardens to visit.
You can walk to the city centre across the Pyrmont Bridge and be in the main shopping area within a few minutes. Or if you prefer you can take a bus, the light rail or even a ferry ride around the harbour, under the Harbour Bridge, past the Opera House and into Circular quay where you can visit the Modern Art Gallery and historical Rocks District. All transport options are available within a minutes walk from our home.
Many Saturday nights we are entertained with fireworks in the harbour in front of our balcony. This is a vibrant part of the Sydney landscape and home to many festivals.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
Please check our exchange preferences below. As neither Russell or I are smokers and therefore prefer to have our home as a smoke free environment. We would expect this to be respected.
In addition, as our apartment is not really well set up for children, we are not open to family groups including children. This apartment block is pet free under current regulations so there are no animals to look after and as we have an automatic watering system the few pot plants on our balcony are mostly maintenance free.
We do not include car exchange but can provide a security parking space under the building if you are renting a car during your stay.
In the past we have negotiated with exchangers for the provision of mutual regular cleaning services to continue in both homes. We are open to consider a similar arrangement in the future if you wish.
Our exchange approach is to treat your home as would our own and ask only that any guests staying in our home do the same.
