Although we have retired from the paid workforce Gerda keeps busy helping to run a disabled sailing program and playing in a recorder orchestra. Jeff is active in Canberra's cycling organisation and in Rotary. As well as sailing, we both like cross country skiing. And we do like to travel. As well as learning more history by poking about art galleries, museums, old towns, churches, castles etc, we enjoy the wind on our backs, cycling in the countryside and mixing with locals.

Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Exchange house: Our simple 1950s beach cottage overlooks Pittwater, which is great for sailing and canoeing. In summer we spend a good deal of time on the balcony, sipping coffee, reading, or saying hello to the birds who drop by for some seed.
The house is ideal for a couple, but we have exchanged with families. The 2nd bedroom is not a big one but 2 teenage boys managed fine.
We can also host you at our home in Canberra, Australia's capital.
In 2023, approx July-Sept, we plan to be in Europe with UK & EU exchanges. We'd like to explore more of Australia and NZ too, maybe Japan.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Palm Beach, Sydney's northernmost beach suburb has 3 surf beaches nearby, each with a nice sea water rock pool. Walks in a national park are a ferry ride away. The bus that stops outside will take you to the beach, pool, cafes and shops of Avalon in a few minutes. A ride into the city takes over 90 minutes by bus, about 45 mins by car.
