We are 2 adults and 4 children (ages 4, 10, 12, and 16). I'm from Edinburgh originally and now live in Melbourne. We are hoping to spend 3 months in Edinburgh at the end of the year to see family and let the kids experience Scottish life for a wee bit. I am a paediatrician and my husband is an orthopaedic surgeon. He will be doing a sabbatical at the Royal Infirmary. I used to go to Gillespie's High School and we all lived in Bruntsfield for 18 months in 2014-2015 so we know the city well.
Come and spend 3 months in sunny Australia, have Christmas on the beach, and enjoy this gorgeous part of the world!

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our home is a large, modern, family home with a pool, private garden and secure driveway. We have water views of Port Phillip Bay, looking west with lovely sunsets over the water. The garden has children's swings, a slide and an in-ground trampoline. There is an outdoor deck and patio area with outdoor table setting and BBQ.
We have 5 bedrooms with 1 king, 1 queen, 2 double and 1 single bed. But we also have 2 mattresses for extra guests who need to sleepover.
There are 4 bathrooms (including 4 showers and 2 baths). We have a large lounge area with a bar, a toy/play area, a music room, a large eat-in kitchen, a laundry, and a smaller lounge.
There are 2 open fire places, underfloor heating downstairs and in all the bathrooms, and ducted air conditioning (heating and cooling) upstairs.
The kitchen is fully equipped with combi-oven, large oven and steam oven. Five induction hobs, 2 fridge freezers, dishwasher, filtered boiled/chilled/sparkling water built-in, a breakfast bar and large round family dining table.
The laundry has a washing machine, dryer and hanging racks and there is also an additional washing line outside in the garden.
We have a double carport and a range of bicycles.
We have a lovely cat who is friendly and quite independent.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in Mount Eliza, a beachside village suburb, on the Mornington Peninsula, 1 hour's drive south from the centre of Melbourne. Our home is 5 minutes' walk from the village where you will find shops, post office, etc. and 5 minutes from the beach. There are 2 excellent private schools in the village, as well as government schools (1 high school and 3 primary schools). There are 2 large supermarkets, several butchers, artisan bakery, grocers, cafes, restaurants, and many other independent and boutique shops, hairdressers, etc. There is a farmer's market once a month.
There is a bus stop outside our house which takes 10 minutes to the nearest train station where there are direct trains into Melbourne. Located in semi-rural countryside, the area is known for its produce, wineries, beaches and warm summers.
