Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

The house is located on the Fluerieu Peninsular 60kms south of Adelaide. The peninsular is noted for the Southern Vales Wine region and has close access to wineries for wine tastings and restaurants. The house sits alone in a rural setting but is only ten minutes drive to the nearest towns and amenities. The famous south coast of Adelaide provides surfing, leisure beach activities, delightful beach side towns hosting quality restaurants and cafes. Victor Harbor is a 20 minute drive. The house can be a jumping off point for day trips to Kangaroo Island or for a longer period of time. As a car is necessary car exchange is negotiable and can be taken to Kangaroo Island on the car ferry if required.
Wildlife can be seen around the house and on bush walks, particularly at dusk kangaroos can be viewed in their natural habitat.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

With its rugged and dramatic coast, booming surf beaches and popular family swimming spots, there’s no shortage of picture-perfect vantage points, including plenty of wildlife including whale watching and Kangaroo Island. Historic towns host museums and galleries. The fantastic food of the region showcase local produce as do Farmers markets. There are 75 cellar doors to choose from as the Fleurieu climate produces award winning wines so dropping to at least one cellar door is a must.
‘Where The vines meet the sea’ is the catch cry in McLaren Vale, 10 minutes drive away. It’s known Internationally for its awesome Shiraz and that’s why thousands of visitors come to explore the area’s diverse cellar doors.
