Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Artistically renovated and extended 1890 brick cottage circa 2005. Designed by owners in collaboration with architect and builder. Comprises 2 double bedrooms, lounge, study, kitchen/dining, bathroom, ensuite, laundry, studio and garage on a secure walled garden site.
Within the original Victorian cottage are a bedroom with double bed and built in storage connecting to our office.The lounge area with TV and gas fire adjoins a cosy study/library.
The modern addition contains a bright and generous kitchen dining area with nook and indoor/outdoor access to the walled garden. A large fully tiled bathroom with freestanding bath, separate shower and toilet. A compact laundry.
Upstairs is a private carpeted master bedroom with built in robes, ensuite with toilet and handbasin, that opens onto a discreet, sunny deck.
Connected to the house is a lockable garage which extends into a large studio/workshop at the rear. Another off street parking space is sited in front of the garage.

Our home is situated in a quiet, residential, tree lined street in historic Footscray, one of Melbourne's foundiation suburbs. It is a short walking distance from the centre of Footscray, now an established multicultural shopping/market/cafe/transport hub just 7klms from Melbourne CBD. These shops, markets, cafes and streets exhibit a diversity of cultures including, Vietnamese, Indian, Ethiopian, Chinese and Somali in addition to established Anglo-European residents.

Extensive parkland along the Maribyrnong river, beside Victoria University and Flemington racecourse home of the world renowned Melbourne cup horse race are all within a klm. Melbourne Port divides Footscray from Melbourne CBD. The top of Port Phillip bay and the shopping/dining/stadium precinct of Docklands is within 5klms and serviced by established road, train and bus routes. These excellent transport options also extend west providing day trip access to Geelong, Ballarat, the Bellerine Peninsula, Surf Coast, Great Ocean Road and the fertile Western plains, ringed by wineries and home to fine dairy and farm produce.
