Rod and I are retired from full time work. I teach fitness and Yoga classes and Rod oversights our family business. I am a retired nurse, academic and Rod a Director with the Australian National Government. We are both fit and well and enjoy walking in the bushland, our garden and generally being outdoors. We also enjoy live theater, good restaurants and wine.
We have two married adult children with 3 grandchildren (Hong Kong and Sydney) who we catch up with when ever possible. So we do a lot of overseas travel and exchanges usually transiting via HK.,
We have two cars (BMWs) and we are willing to exchange one.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Large architecturally designed home in the "bush" capital of Australia - Canberra. Our home has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms; formal sitting area, and a combined sitting, dining and kitchen room.
This large room has great views across the city and bushland. It has a lovely fireplace and large north facing windows to let in the sun in the winter but evaporative cooling and double glazing to manage the temperature in summer. Modern leather lounge furniture and an 8 seater dining table.
This room also opens onto a large deck with magic views over bushland; it is a great place to enjoy a wine in the evening and watch the sunset; it has a bar b que and large outdoor table and chairs; lovely to sit out here and have dinner and look at the view.
The kitchen is modern with all appliances and an espresso machine has pride of place.
Our back gate opens onto natural parkland and every day we walk in the park and see wallabies, kangaroos, kookaburras, bower birds and other native animals and birds. Kangaroos are known to feast on our neighbours lawn.
Canberra as the nations capital has amazing museums, galleries, and an impressive parliament house. In September/October each year it has the Floriade, the largest flower festival in the southern hemisphere. We are very close to the cool climate wine region, great restaurants and 2 hours from the snow fields and the beaches.
We will be happy to exchange cars. We have 2 BMWs
As we have grandchildren staying often we have toys, books, cots, highchairs, children's car seats we are happy to provide access to.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Wide streets with houses; trees and native bushland over the side fence. Yet we are only 5minutes drive to a Westfield shopping centre, theatres, and restaurants.
Wonderful neighbours who are happy to give you support. Canberra is very easy to drive around and it takes no time to find yourself in the country with access to some lovely country villages with art galleries and cafes.
From our home and out the back gate you can go bushwalking in the parkland, climb Mount Taylor with views forever over the city or ride a bike on the many bike paths.
