Arthur River is a small village on the edge of the Tarkine Wilderness, one of the largest tracts of temperate rainforest left on the planet. It is very beautiful but quite remote. Basic groceries, icecreams, bait etc are close but the nearest large stores, doctor and decent cafe is 60 km away. The weather can be wild and changeable, governed by the prevailing winds off the Southern Ocean. There are endless empty beaches to explore, kayaks in the garage to get up the river, and bikes to get out at sunset to look for the wildlife - wallabies, quolls, wombats, Tasmanian Devils. This is a place to do very little but read your book, fish, kayak and walk on the beach. The house will be available from April 2017 to the end of 2017 at this stage. We are interested in non-simultaneous exchanges (as we are travelling around the world) also if you are in Iceland, USA, Ireland, or Scotland.
