Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Homelink members since 1985.
[Galloway US03473B]
Our second home is located in south Sarasota close to magnificent Siesta Key beach. This offers ocean beach walks, swimming and general relaxation on one of the best beaches in the USA. There is an indoor 25m pool at a nearby facility. Sarasota has many cultural attractions including a symphony, ballet, a repertoire theater company, the Ringling Museum and home and a very nice venue for traveling shows. Our home is in a great location near a very nice Publix grocery store, Target, and Trader Joe's. There is a Costco warehouse store about one mile away. Two American baseball teams have their spring training in the area.
The home is within easy driving distance of Tampa (Busch Gardens, Dali Museum), Orlando (Disney World, Sea World and other theme parks) and Fort Myers (Edison and Ford winter estates/museums)
This is a three bedroom, two bath home on one level. There is a large glassed “Florida room” at the rear and an outdoor patio with a table seating six plus a small two person table and chair set. The master bedroom has a king bed with Tempurpedic mattresses, two walk-in closets and an ensuite full bath. This bath also has a soaking tub plus a large walk-in “Roman” style shower. The second bedroom has two extra-long Tempurpedic twin beds and a nearby full bath. The third room is furnished as an office with a pull-out queen sofa bed. The living/dining/kitchen area of the house is the major open space. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric appliances.
This home has a Volvo XC70 sport utility vehicle in the garage for you to drive if a car is included in our exchange.
We are non-smokers, have no pets or inside plants and do not want anyone to smoke inside our home or car. We also cannot consume alcohol or caffeine due to health issues, but it is fine if you enjoy them in our home.

Attractions

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

We live close to the number-one beach in the country, Siesta Beach on Siesta Key. It has free parking, food, restrooms and volleyball. The white sand is made of quartz crystals and is fabulous - it never gets hot! Sarasota it known for all of its cultural events, including legitimate theater, opera, orchestra, ballet and a very nice venue for the performing arts. There is also the Ringling Art Museum and their waterfront home. Spanish Point is near the house, the original home of a major area developer - "Bertha Potter" A tour here gives a good view of life in Florida in the late 1800's. The island of Venice is nearby and day-trips easily include Tampa, Fort Meyers Sanibel Island (known for its shelling) and, of course, Disney World and other theme parks in Orlando (about 2 and 1/2 hours away)..
