Along Jackson Street, 3 minutes walk from our house, is the most concentrated range of funky cafes, restaurants (every ethnicity you can think of), in the district. Also the loveliest intimate art house cinema just 3 minutes walk from home, and many interesting shops.

Wellington is NZ's top cultural city, home to the national orchestra, fantastic National Museum, cable car, and stunning Oriental Parade.

An hour north to Wairarapa wine country. And the gorgeous small towns of Greytown and Martinborough. Browse boutique shops and cafes. And some of NZ's best wineries.

And after your stay here, please don't leave the country without road-trupping the South Island (1 week min) or at least flying to Queenstown for a couple of nights, a jewel of a town.
