Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

[I am now fixed up for the summer holidays] I have a 100-year-old house in the Cotswolds, south-west England, on the edge of the town of Stroud, looking out over beautiful countryside. Stroud was named best place to live in 2021 by the Sunday Times because of its community, creativity and wonderful countryside. It is also a convenient touring location for Bath, Cheltenham, Oxford, Gloucester, Bristol, and Stratford on Avon. London is 90 minutes away on the train.

The house is spacious, on four floors with three bedrooms, a yoga/meditation room, bathroom, living room with wood burner, reception room, hall, and modern airy kitchen extension large enough for a family to eat around the table. There is off street parking. The south-facing garden is extensive - a newly built patio, deck, flat lawn and small orchard with a pond which is bordered by a spring-fed stream at the bottom. My favourite place to sit is by the pond in the shade of the apple tree. I have a small beehive at the bottom of the garden (very calm bees!), so together with all the stairs in the house and steps in the garden I wouldn't recommend it to small children (or very aged adults!). I also have a 3 year old cat called Kira.

The fabulous Rodborough Common - a site of Special Scientific Interest - is only 10 minutes walk up the hill across the road. You can walk into town in 20 minutes, where there is an award-winning farmer's market and main-line railway station, cinema etc. Stroud is in the heart of the Cotswold hills, which are wonderful for walking and cycling.
