Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Large family home surrounded by lush, desert landscaping. Tucson is a hidden gem with a variety of activities and gorgeous surroundings. I'm fully vaccinated & looking for exchanges of others who are vaccinated against Covid.
House - single floor/ Main Residence
Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
I live in a quiet, suburban area in a wonderful family neighborhood that is conveniently located to everything Tucson has to offer. My home is a large, 1-level home with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, den, living, dining, garage, and Sewing Studio. (I'm an avid quilt maker and would LOVE to exchange with someone of similar interests!) The home is in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains about 5 miles north of downtown Tucson. There are no yard chores needed and I have no pets to worry about.
You will find the Desert Southwest a friendly, beautiful place to visit all year round. During the winter months it's unusual to need more than a light jacket; in the summer we can get hot although our very low humidity makes it surprisingly comfortable. Plus all homes, shops, cars, and restaurants have excellent air conditioning! (I don't have a pool; I prefer to conserve our desert water!) It takes 60 minutes to drive up Mt Lemmon where you can enjoy hiking or skiing in the pines.
Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Tucson is in the Sonoran Desert about an hour's drive north of Mexico with lots of places to visit nearby. Within an hour's drive we have the world famous Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, San Xavier del Bac Mission, Saguaro National Park, Kartchner Caverns State Park, several new casinos, Sabino Canyon recreation area, many award winning golf courses, Saguaro National Park, Mt Lemmon, and much more. The Grand Canyon is about 6 hours drive north of us. Tucson has interesting galleries, shops, cafes and restaurants as well as a resurgent & funky downtown. We are the first place in the USA designated a UNESCO Gastronomy City with options from all over the globe. The University of Arizona is located in Tucson with all its cultural and entertainment options available. Alternatively Tucson is an excellent area to enjoy hiking, climbing, golfing, and world class bird-watching.
My sewing studio and machine would be available for use should you be interested and it has the best view possible! If you happen to be interested in patchwork quilting, Tucson is a fun city to visit. We have several fabulous quilt shops that offer many, many classes.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
I'm recently retired after 38 years in the Printing Industry. I'm hoping to do a couple exchanges per year and perhaps have my sister or my adult children (3) join me. My parents have been exchangers for many years (25+ exchanges) and I've tagged along for a few. I'm looking forward to continuing this family tradition and exploring the globe.
