Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
North Capitol Hill has huge trees lining the streets, beautiful parks, cute brunch spots, great restaurants, a bakery & coffee shop 2 blocks from the apartment, and a market just down the street with grocery essentials. It's a quiet neighborhood, but if you're looking for things to do, the heart of Capitol Hill is only a 20-min walk and has lots more going on. Capitol Hill is Seattle's traditionally queer neighborhood.
As with most neighborhoods of Seattle, you're also close to both Lake Washington and the Puget Sound. I've lived here all my life and am happy to recommend my favorite spots depending what you like to do.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Volunteer Park: Check out the Seattle Asian Art Museum and the Volunteer Park Conservatory. Climb the water tower for sweeping 360 views of the city, the Cascade Mountains, the Olympic Mountains, Mount Rainier, Lake Washington and Lake Union, and the Puget Sound. You can also find the sculpture that inspired Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun at an overlook of the city, and on the other side of the park are the graves of Bruce and Brandon Lee.
Interlaken Park: This is one of those parks that makes you forget you're in the middle of the city. I like to make my morning coffee in a travel mug and walk the trails through the woods. There are some stairs so you can make it a little work out if you want.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
My cat and plants will need to be taken care of. The kitty is very easy going and doesn't have any medical or complex food needs, but I do expect whoever stays with her to take good care of her. The plants are pretty straightforward as well - I can organize them by how often they need watering and leave instructions.
Please keep the apartment clean and be a conscientious neighbor to all the other great people who live in the building, including wearing a mask in the hallways and laundry area.
